SOMETHING ABOUT HALEY SCARNATO
Haley Suzanne Scarnato was born on July 15, 1982 in San Antonio, Texas. Scarnato is an American singer who was the 8th place finalist on the American Idol, Season 6.
Haley Scarnato’s parents were Anthony Scarnato and Rose Scarnato. Haley has a fiance, Bobby Krudwig.
Haley Scarnato was a young gymnast between the ages of 5 and 15. There was a time when Haley Scarnato’s body began to give out, and it was after she dislocated both of her shoulders that Haley decided to move on to other things.
Haley Scarnato found out that she was very passionate about singing and music. It was then that Haley became a freelance singer. Haley did back up vocals, performed with the Josephine Theatre (a local theater troupe), and sang in a live wedding band in Texas, “The Oh So Good! Band”.
Haley Scarnato attended and graduated from William Howard Taft High School in San Antonio. Haley is a born again Christian, having a very passionate relationship with the Lord, Haley prays before every performance.
Haley Scarnato’s favorite male and female pop artists are Michael Jackson and Christina Aguilera, respectively. Haley said that apart from singing, she can also dance quite well.
Scarnato auditioned for American Idol in her hometown of San Antonio, Texas. Haley sang Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me", and Paula commented that Haley had real nice control of her voice and said that Haley’s voice was very beautiful. Randy thought it was just fine and Simon agreed by saying "you look good, you sound, it's a bit cabaret".
Both Simon and Randy thought that Haley Scarnato lack originality, but all three of them agreed that Haley did have a good voice and decided to let her through to Hollywood. While in Hollywood, Haley sang Celine Dion's "It's All Coming Back To Me Now". Simon was very impressed with Haley at this point.
In the group round, Haley Scarnato sang with fellow semi-finalists Amy Krebs and with the two other female contestants. Simon thought it was quite good, but said that he wasn't going to remember any of them.
Haley Scarnato made it through to the Top 40, after which Haley finally made it through to the Top 24. On March 8, 2007, Scarnato was voted through to the Top 12 over her roommate, Sabrina Sloan.
Haley Scarnato sang the following songs during her stay in the American Idol, Season 6: “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” by Celine Dion, “Queen of the Night” by Whitney Houston, “If My Heart Had Wings” by Faith Hill, “Missing You” by Diana Ross, “Tell Him” by Billie Davis, “True Colors” by Cyndi Lauper, “’Ain’t Misbehavin’” by Ella Fitzgerald, and “Turn the Beat Around” by Vicki Sue Robinson.
Haley Scarnato was eliminated from the show on April 11, after Haley received the lowest amount of votes during Latin Music Night. This made Haley the first contestant in the top 12 to be eliminated after having been in the bottom two or three in the previous weeks.
After Haley Scarnato’s 8-week stint in American Idol, Season 6, Haley sang the national anthem on May 12, 2007, prior to Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals between the San Antonio Spurs and Phoenix Suns.
