Semi-Finals
Week 1 - February 21, 2007
("It's All Coming Back to Me Now" by Celine Dion)

The comments for Haley Scarnato were fairly good. Randy said that he thought it could be better, but expressed that it was a good song choice nonetheless. Paula said that Haley did a good job, but said that Haley could have chosen a different song, because she already sang “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” in Hollywood. Simon felt it was old-fashioned and that Haley sounded like she forty years old. Simon said that Haley’s song made him feel like he was in a good hotel.

Week 2 - February 28, 2007
("Queen of the Night" by Whitney Houston)

Haley Scarnato listened to mixed reviews from the judges. Randy said that the song had more background vocals than lead vocals, yet, the song was still not that great. Paula commented that the performance was decidedly better than the week before and noticed that Haley had fun onstage. Simon said that Haley could get an "A" for trying but Scarnato still came out badly on the vocals.

Week 3 - March 7, 2007
("If My Heart Had Wings" by Faith Hill)

The comments for Haley were not very good. Randy said it was an interesting song choice and that she sang it well, but the song did not have any magic. Paula said it was fine and that she carried the tune quite well. Simon thought it was horrible and commented "it was like some ghastly high school musical performance". Haley Scarnato felt "clocked in and clocked out," and that she "always got bad comments". Paula comforted, "Haley you haven't always received bad comments." Haley responded that she does not get it from everyone but that Simon does not like her. The next day, Scarnato beat Sabrina Sloan to the final twelve.

Finals
Week 1 - March 13, 2007
("Missing You" by Diana Ross)

Haley Scarnato’s mentor, Diana Ross, informed her that instead of a stage voice, Haley had a recording voice. The reviews for Haley, were once again, varied. Randy said that he thought Haley sounded nervous and her usual pitch is better than her pitch that night. Paula said that Haley looked "lovely", and said that it was a brand new day, and that it could be the reason for forgetting her lyrics. At this point Scarnato was clearly overcome with emotion, and could but smile and nod. When Simon said, "I didn't think it was that bad," Haley could not help but break down and weep onstage. Simon went on to say "I think you had real presence, I think you look like a star". Simon thought that Haley’s nerves got the best of her halfway through the song, but believes that if Haley holds it together, she may do better she normally does.

Week 2 - March 20, 2007
("Tell Him" by Billie Davis)

Lulu guided Haley Scarnato that week, and told Haley that she had to be grounded in whatever song she chose. Haley received good comments from the judges. Randy approved of the song as a good song choice, and that "Haley is back in the competition". Randy added that it was Haley’s best performance to date. Paula said that Haley had a "real girlish quality" and thought that she looked good and quite flirty. Simon called her "a naughty little thing" and said that it was young and fun, but a little "shrieky". Simon said that people could be talking about that more than Haley’s singing.

Week 3 - March 27, 2007
("True Colors" by Cyndi Lauper)

Haley Scarnato's coach that week was Gwen Stefani. Stefani recommended that Scarnato should not play around with the melody too much. Consequently, Haley gave a subdued performance which as quite fine. Haley got mixed reviews from the judges once again. Randy said that Haley started off rough but got better towards the middle. Overall, Haley’s performance was quite alright. Paula said that she should have chosen a song that was a “little younger” and thought it was too adult contemporary. Simon said that Haley’s performance "was sweet, but forgettable" and then said that he thought it was "too safe".

Week 4 - April 3, 2007
("Ain't Misbehavin'" by Ella Fitzgerald)

Haley Scarnato didn't receive any real criticisms that night. Randy believed that it would be a good week for Haley, then went straight to Paula, who said green was her color (she was donning a bright green dress). Simon expressed, "That was rude. You should have commented on the performance," but Paula answered that Haley “wants to know what you think." Simon looked up at Haley Scarnato and said, "I think you have great legs." He then quickly went on to say that he thought it was a good style of music for Haley. Simon thought that Haley’s Performance was pageantry. The next night, Haley Scarnato was in the bottom two with Gina. Many viewers complained that Haley did not get a lot of votes because the judges had not been very serious about her performance.

Week 5 - April 10, 2007
("Turn the Beat Around" by Gloria Estefan)

Randy called Haley Scarnato’s performance really karaoke, saying that he could hear the same performance in any bar. Paula said that it looked like Haley had a lot of fun on the stage. Simon, focused on Haley’s wardrobe, believed that Haley’s strategy was to wear as little clothing as possible to get votes, and that all Haley can do is have fun. On April 11, Scarnato was eliminated.

Post-American Idol Performance

On May 12, 2007, Haley Scarnato sang the national anthem prior to Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals between the San Antonio Spurs and Phoenix Suns.
